1. The Garden of Eden. (Genesis 1~3)

After God made the world, he made Adam, the first man. He loves Adam so much. So he created a real friend for Adam. Her name was Eve. God wanted Eve to be very much like Adam, so he made her in a very wonderful way. He put Adam to sleep, and while he was asleep God took one of his ribs away from him, and with that rib he made Eve.

God gave them the beautiful garden of Eden. There were ever so many wonderful flowers and trees in that garden. There were plenty of nice vegetables, and all kinds of fruit. They were very happy.

God said "You may eat any fruit, but you must not eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of what is good and what is bad." God made it very plain to Adam and Eve that it was really wrong to eat the fruit of this tree, and that if they did eat it they would surely die.

One day a snake came up to Eve. The snake said, "Eat the fruit. If you eat the fruit, It will make you wise. You will be like God." She picked some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, and he also ate it. God said, "You did not listen to me." God was angry. Because Adam and Eve both did what God told them not to do. God made them move out of the beautiful garden he had prepared for them.

3. Noah's Ark (Genesis 6~9)

When God looked at the earth, people were cruel and wicked. God was very sad. So God said "I will destroy people and all living creatures from the face of the earth." But Noah pleased God because he was the only good man among the people of his time. Noah walked with God. He had three sons : Shem, ham and Japheth.

One day God said to Noah, "I will flood the earth with water. Make an ark. Everything on the earth will die. Go into the ark with your wife, your sons and their wives. And take a male and a female of all living creatures with you." Noah did as God told him. After the seven days the flood came. It rained for forty days and nights.

At last the rain stopped. The earth was dry. God said to Noah, "Come out of the ark with your wife, your sons, and their wives. Bring out all the birds and animals with you. Noah and his family walked onto the dry land with all the animals and birds. Noah made an altar and worshipped God. "We must thank God for keeping us safe." said Noah. 4. The Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1~9)

Years and years ago all the people in the world spoke the same language, so they understood one another. Of course there weren't as many people in the world then as there are now. Because it was shortly after that great flood. Right after that flood there were only eight people in the whole world — Noah and his family. Noah had three sons, as we learned before, and they all had wives, and after the flood children were born to these families. These children grew up to be men and women, and other children were born. After a while there were quite a few people in the world. These people decided to work together and build a big city, and they decided also that in this city they would build a great and tall tower that would reach all the way to heaven. This angered the Lord. He did not want all the people to stay in one place where they could see this tower. He desired them to live in various other parts of the earth. So he caused them all to speak different languages, and he scattered them over the whole would. The unfinished city was called Babel, meaning "confusion"

Question

1. How many people were living right after the flood?

2. What did they make to reach to heaven?

3. What was the name of the unfinished city?

4. Was God happy to the tower of Babel?

5. Why is it not possible for everyone in the world today to speak the same language?
