Personal Testimony

 

 When l was young, l was sincere Christian and going to church was one of my favorite. However,

my mother got sick one day and we tried every way we could to help her, but it didn't work at all.

Nobody knew the reason or even the name of illness. Finally, we had to call a shaman and she recovered.

After that, my whole family started to believe in Buddhism.

 

Naturally, instead of going to church, we visited many famous temples every Sunday. we easily forgot church and God.

My father was the vice president for a news paper and my family didn't have any financial problems.

My mother donated a lot of money to the temples. And so many monks visited us.

However, one day when l was in highschool, l heard a bell ringing from a church by chance. at that time,

 l was strongly inspired and something from the bottom of my heart made me want go to again church.

 But there was nobody to ask me to go church and l was not brave enough to go to church by my self.

Anyway l managed to go to church after for a while and l was so happy to return to God.

once l returned to church, l became very active in church activities.

 l participated in any thing l could do, such as choir, bible studies, or group pryer meetings.

Unfortunately, my parent knew l returned to church and they were very angry with me.

they harshly asked me not to go to church. But once l decided to go to church again.

 

Nothing could change my mind. No matter how strong their anger was, l kept going to church.

Even after l went to college, it was very difficult to keep my faith. However, with God's love and grace, l could keep going to church. During my college years, I prayed for three things. First, I prayed for my whole family go to church.

Second, I prayed for my future husband.

I prayed for God to send a good husband who would believe in God with his whole heart and soul.

Third, I prayed for my job after graduation.

 

When I think back, I believe God happily answered my prayers.

I met my husband, a physician, and I taught at a highschool for 7 years.

However, I didn't realize those things came from God's love and grace at that time.

Thus, I lost a good opportunity to introduce my students to God's love and grace for them,

I was neither a good teacher nor a sincere Christian.
